Asset Protection Planning

In today’s society, people file lawsuits over just about anything. Unfortunately, no matter how frivolous the lawsuit might appear, you never really know what a jury might decide. Little wonder, then, that Asset Protection Planning is such a rapidly growing area of the law, and why more and more families are seeking experienced counsel to design an effective Asset Protection plan of their own.

Your Asset Protection Plan should accomplish two primary goals. It should protect you and your spouse from predators looking to make a claim on your assets while you are alive, as well as protect your children’s inheritance from creditors and predators after you are gone. This can involve issues such as ensuring your child’s inheritance is safe should he or she get divorced—something to consider when half of all marriages today end in divorce. Likewise, your grandchildren may need protection to ensure they receive their inheritances if your child dies and your son-in-law or daughter-in-law remarries. In fact, your children may even need protection from their own decisions if they are not mature enough or incapable of handling a large inheritance on their own.

At the Estate Planning and Legacy Law Center, we have the experience to design comprehensive plan to protect your assets for your enjoyment during your lifetime, and for the enjoyment of your loved ones after you are gone.
